200hr Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Course

Are you looking to build a solid Yoga foundation and move towards the next level of practice?

Course Objectives

  • Develop a deep understanding of the key concepts of Hatha Yoga and the body to ensure a proper and impactful practice
  • Gain a profound understanding of the various Hatha poses and sequences in order to execute them safely and effectively
  • Explore other practices like pranayama (breath work) beyond asanas to complement your Hatha Yoga practice in boosting your overall health
  • Master the art of conducting authentic, inclusive, inspiring and safe classes for your students of all ages, levels and body type
  • Connect with like-minded students and teachers to share and learn ways to grow as a practitioner, teacher and community

Prerequisites

You have attended at least 10 Yoga classes

Course details and fees

Dates/Time: Progress at your own pace throughout the year!

Fees**: $3,299 (first 5 only), $3,899 (regular) – GST inclusive                           

Course structure

180 hours: in-class time

5 hours: physical in-studio shadowing of Jal Yoga classes by any Jal instructors

5 hours: co-teaching with Krishna

10 hours: community class teaching

Key Syllabus

1. History and key concepts of Yoga

      • History and philosophical foundations of Yoga
      • Study of Upanishads, Panchakosha, Trigunas, Tridoshas & more
      • Key Yogic Text
      • Discover & appreciate the relevance of Yoga to our lives today

2. Subtle anatomy

      • Key concepts and the uses of Prana, Chakras, Nadis, Panchakosha

3. Introduction to Hatha Yoga

      • History and philosophical foundations of Hatha Yoga practice
      • Key concepts of Hatha Yoga practice – the fundamentals; dos and don’ts; breath, mind and movement

4. Anatomy & Physiology

      • Study of the human body and its relevance in Hatha Yoga practice – body, skeletal & muscular systems
      • Study of the human movement and biomechanics and the role they play in ensuring a safe and injury-free practice

 

5. Principles of asanas

      • In-depth study of Hatha poses, Sun Salutations and other Hatha sequences – the benefits, techniques, alignment and variations of Hatha poses with and without props
      • Common mistakes and how to avoid injuries

6. Pranayama, Meditation, Yogic Kriyas, Mudras, Bandhas & more

      • Study of these traditional Yoga practices that go beyond asanas and how to use them for boosting our overall wellbeing

7. Effective class planning and teaching

      • Authentic & inclusive teaching of Hatha Yoga to inspire and empower people of different ages, fitness levels and body types to practise Hatha Yoga for better wellbeing
      • Effective teaching techniques (verbal cues, demonstration, etc…)
      • Impactful and creative sequencing & theming to meet your students’ various needs
      • The art of safe and effective assisting and adjusting
      • How to be a good teacher on and off the mats

Krishna is a trained and motivated Yoga Teacher with advanced training in traditional Yogic principles. He is also a professional Yoga therapist with a strong enthusiasm in inspiring others to improve their health and wellness goals with therapeutic approach of Yoga.

His teachings blend the ancient yet advanced science of Yoga with modern and scientific techniques.

Qualifications:

  • 300hr Yoga Instructor Course
  • PG Diploma in Yoga Therapy
  • M.Sc in Yoga
