35hr Barre Teacher Training Course

Raise the Barre by exploring all aspects of this ballet-inspired workout while learning how to pass the knowledge on.

Upon graduation, you’ll able to execute different Barre moves as well as teach classes confidently and safely!

Course Objectives

  • Develop a deep understanding of the history, philosophy, anatomic theories and fundamentals of Barre
  • Gain comprehensive knowledge on the various Barre series that targets different muscle groups for a safe and impactful practice
  • Learn how to use props like weights and exercise balls to elevate the effectiveness of your practice 
  • Master the art of conducting inclusive, impactful and safe classes for your students of all ages, levels and body type

Attended at least 10 Barre classes

Course Details and Fees

Dates: 3, 4 & 5 Mar (Fri – Sun)

Time: 0900 – 1800

Duration: 3 days

Fees**: $1,399 (first 5 only), $1,799 (regular) – GST inclusive

Course Structure

24 hours: in-class time

10 hours: physical in-studio shadowing of Jal Yoga classes by any Jal instructors

1 hour: practical teaching or a report submission

 

Key Syllabus

1. History and key concepts of Barre

      • History, philosophy and fundamentals of Barre
      • Study of neutral posture and planes of motion
      • Importance of warm up

2. Anatomy & physiology

      • Study of the skeletal and muscular systems and its relevance in Barre practice
      • Study of the human movement and biomechanics and the role they play in ensuring a safe practice

3. Practical 

      • In-depth study of the various barre series for different muscles groups (back, triceps, biceps, chest, leg, gluteus, gluteus side, core & more)

 

 4. Pre- and Post-Natal modifications

      • Learn the different modifications to teach pregnant and new mothers clients, helping them in their pre- and post-natal periods (strengthening core, hip, gluteus & more)

5. Effective class planning and teaching

      • Inclusive teaching of Barre (modifications, variations) to inspire and empower people of different ages, fitness levels and body types to practise Barre for better wellbeing
      • Effective teaching techniques (verbal cues, demonstration, playlist, ballet terms, etc…)
      • Impactful and creative sequencing & layering to meet your students’ various needs
      • The art of effective assisting and adjusting

Barre Teacher Training Instructor

Sarah started teaching Barre because she likes the fact that it is a low-impact but full-body workout that works on muscle groups that you never knew existed. The repetitive moments, pulses and isometric holds coupled with dynamic music is an experience that she believes will never have in any other workouts.

It leaves her feeling energised and refreshed after a class. Sarah enjoys Pilates, music and dance so Barre is definitely the perfect combination of all these!
