Hazel is a fun and interesting instructor. You can hear her laughter from afar and she is always full of positive energy. Her attentive nature guides students to do their best during the session. Hazel gains her interest in yoga at the age of 9, and has become a qualified yoga teacher in 2013. Now she is a full-time instructor at Jal Yoga, teaching Hatha, Vinyasa and Kinetic Yoga. Let’s take a look at what are the essential items in Hazel’s bag!

  1. Yoga Books: Hazel reads regularly. She would read in between classes, goes back to revise her notes or does some light reading during lunch.
  2. Water bottle
  3. EZ-Link card
  4. Thumb drive
  5. Wallet
  6. Pencil case
  7. Sunglasses
  8. Tissue paper
  9. Essential oils: Hazel is allergic to drugs, hence she has to look for alternatives when she is not feeling well. Now she is a firm believer in natural therapy and has a bag full of essential oils, each with its own purposes. For example, when she is starting to feel sick and having a slight headache, she will use peppermint oil to massage the acupoint of her head. Likewise, when she is aching at the back or waist or having muscle ache, she would apply the “deep blue” oil to soothe the muscles and improve blood circulation. She would also use essential oil as the treatment for any injuries.
  10. Keys
  11. T-shirt: As a full-time Yoga instructor, she would often be covered with sweats after yoga classes. Hazel warned that it is unhealthy if you do not change away from your sweaty clothes after yoga class, especially Infrared Heat class. You will fall sick really easily because all your pores are opened and the changing in room temperature will make you prompt to sickness.
  12. Massage ball
  13. Hairband
  14. Towel

“Inner Yoga – Entering the Heart of the Tradition” is a book written by Hazel’s yoga acharya (teacher’s teacher), and her teacher was modeling as the model on the cover page.
