A coast few outsiders ever see. Stand before a fire that burns till dawn, move through a martial art older than memory, walk a grove the village holds sacred. And Yoga, woven through it all. Six days unlike any trip you’ve taken. Just twelve guests.
A coast few outsiders ever see. Stand before a fire that burns till dawn, move through a martial art older than memory, walk a grove the village holds sacred. And Yoga, woven through it all. Six days unlike any trip you’ve taken. Just twelve guests.
On most trips, you stay a visitor. Not here. For six days on Kerala’s Malabar coast, a family opens its home and its sacred fire ritual to you, something few outsiders ever witness.
And that’s just one part. You’ll also practise kalari, the martial art Kerala’s warriors trained in, walk a grove kept sacred for generations, and find Yoga woven through it all. Just twelve guests, start to finish. Here’s how your six days unfold.

Day 1 (9 Jan, Sat)
Your first sight of the Malabar coast. Settle into your cliffside home, then gather for dinner as the sea settles into evening.

Day 2 (10 Jan, Sun)
Open the day with a Grounding Sunrise Yoga, then visit the Peralassery Temple and its ancient pond. In the afternoon, weave your own cloth at a village loom. The evening closes with North Malabar folk song, dance and dinner.

Day 3 (11 Jan, Mon)
Begin with a Morning Flow, then a sound bath in the garden mandapam. The afternoon drifts down the river by traditional boat before a quiet walk through a sacred serpent grove. As night falls, a private theyyam unfolds just for your group.

Day 4 (12 Jan, Tue)
Spend the morning at a heritage kalari, learning its movements from a master, the Gurukkal himself. After a Restorative Yoga session, the evening turns sacred. Step inside an ancestral family home for the kaliyattam, and witness a fire theyyam that burns deep into the night.

Day 5 (13 Jan, Wed)
After the long night before, the day is yours. Sleep in, laze by the cove, do nothing at all. Later, if you like, learn to cook Malabar biryani the local way, ease into a Restorative Yoga session, or browse the markets by rickshaw. The retreat closes with a candle-lit dinner and a final circle together.

Day 6 (14 Jan, Thu)
One last sunrise meditation before the coast lets you go. A slow breakfast, then a private transfer to the airport for your flight home, carrying six days you won't forget.
Not a performance. A living act of worship, held exactly as it has been for centuries.
Here, people believe a god can enter a human body for one night. The man chosen sits still as the drums build and the headdress rises. By the end, the village no longer calls him by his name. He has become the deity.
People come to him then, for a blessing, for an answer, for something they’ve carried a long way. It happens whether anyone is watching or not.
Carried by families for generations, these nights are rarely opened to outsiders. On this retreat, you’re among the few invited in.

“I’ve led retreats across India for years, each one its own world. This is unlike anything I’ve built before.
The days here are full. A fire ritual, a martial art, a walk through the sacred grove. So I’ve made the Yoga slower to match, longer holds, more breath, so your body has already done its own quiet work before each day opens.
If this speaks to you, we’d love to have you along.”
